Recipe Journeys

It has been a very long time since I've added any new blogs. I am going to commit to my writing and discuss some new recipe adventures. Now with the fun world of apps its great to explore recipes at your finger tips. I loaded the betty crocker recipe app and its great! I made the summer chicken stew and it was delicious! Great mix of vegetables and not a heavy stew feel. Its 100+degrees here in Phoenix and soup isn't ideal but I've made two soups in the last month and they were well received. I also made the whole grain banana bread minus the whole grain cereal. The recipe is fairly health to begin with but I didn't have any Total cereal so I just didn't add it. The bread was awesome! Using vanilla yogurt allowed me to omit vanilla extract and the recipe called for less butter than other recipes and the yogurt was its moist substitute. Only 120 calories a slice. Also yummy! I plan to do some more baking as the weather cools down and the AC isn't required to survive.
Tomorrow Herb crushed pork tenderloin a Paula Dean recipe. oatmeal cookies, and if I can find my red velvet bars recipe...lots of work to do.
